BRAINTREE TOWN were beaten 1-0 at home by Concord Rangers, in National League South.

The Beach Boys scored their winner in the tenth minute when Jayden Randell rose above everyone at a corner to head home the game’s only goal.

Billericay Town's home defeat to Dartford means they are still eight points adrift of Braintree at the foot of the table, with five matches to play.

Iron manager Ryan Maxwell said: "Yes, we were poor in the first period but the boys picked themselves up in the second half and I felt we put a great deal of pressure on them and really deserved a draw by the end of the day.

"Having an early setback through this goal certainly deflated us and it meant that in the first half we struggle to get to grips with the game.

"We seem to be lack some energy and effort and it took us a long time to get going."
