BRAINTREE TOWN lie a point off the National League South relegation zone following a 2-1 defeat at promotion-chasing Dorking Wanderers.

Alfie Rutherford gave the hosts the lead in the 14th minute.

And he doubled their advantage, three minutes later.

Gianni Crichlow was denied by the Dorking goalkeeper before Iron pulled a goal back just before the break through Stefan Ilic.

Ilic showed good footwork to pull a goal back for Braintree, with his first goal for the club.

However, it was not enough to salvage them a point, despite a great effort.

 

BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT'S losing run continued after they were beaten 4-2 at home by Kingstonian.

Ollie Cook gave Kingstonian a third-minute lead but Zack Littlejohn equalised, five minutes before the break.

Aaron Blair then gave the R's the lead seven minutes after the break but Daniel Ajakaiye equalised with 17 minutes to go.

Elliott Buchanan then restored Kingstonian's lead two minutes later and then scored again to seal the visitors' win.

MALDON AND TIPTREE lost 1-0 at AFC Sudbury, after Jake Clowsley netted the hosts' winner with 15 minutes remaining in the Pitchin In Isthmian League division north clash.

HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS beat Basildon United 2-0.

Darren Phillips gave Swifts an 82nd-minute lead, before Joe Claridge wrapped up their win from the penalty spot late on.

WITHAM TOWN fell to a 3-2 defeat at Stowmarket Town.

Luke Stanley gave Witham the lead which they held at half-time.

But two goals in the space of seven second-half minutes from Luke Brown and Josh Curry turned the game on its head.

Ramiah Mills equalised for Witham with 19 minutes remaining but Josh Mayhew grabbed Stowmarket's winner with nine minutes to go.

FC CLACTON were 4-3 winners at LITTLE OAKLEY in a remarkable Essex Senior League encounter.

The ten-man Seasiders staged a dramatic comeback, as two injury-time goals saw them claim victory at the Memorial Ground.

Oakley took a tenth-minute lead through Danny Garrad and Clacton missed a penalty when Alfie Matthews' penalty was saved by Dan Joyce.

The Acorns doubled their lead before the break through Mason Lumley but Harry McDonald pulled a goal back soon after half-time and the Seasiders drew level on the hour mark when Jordan Lartey deflected in from close range.

FC Clacton were reduced to ten men when substitute Teddy Collis was sent off for allegedly throwing a punch at an opponent following a melee.

Tyler Sullivan restored Oakley's lead but three minutes into added on time, McDonald bundled in his second of the game for 3-3.

And FC Clacton claimed a dramatic winner through Mekhi McKenzie, after the assistant confirmed the ball had crossed the line.

STANWAY ROVERS lost 4-2 at home to Saffron Walden Town.

In Thurlow Nunn League first division south, WIVENHOE TOWN had to settle for a 2-2 draw after Haverhill Borough fought back from a two-goal deficit to draw.

Goals from Joe Maybanks and Karl Swanborough had put the Dragons in command.

HALSTEAD TOWN lost 2-0 at Frenford.

Goals either side of half-time from Raheem Gray and Owen James sealed the hosts' win.
