Maldon and Tiptree have appointed former Ipswich Town and Manchester City player Kevin Horlock as their new manager.
The former Republic of Ireland international replaces Steve Ball, who left his role earlier this month to take over as the U's assistant manager al Colchester United.
Horlock, 43, who has been coaching Colchester's under-18s with Wayne Brown this season, will aim to help the Jammers earn promotion from Ryman North next season.
He knows the league well, having had recently been in charge of Ryman South side, Chatham Town.
Horlock has also coached at Needham Market Reserves and their Academy, along with the Northern Ireland under-21s.
He enjoyed an impressive playing career before going into coaching, making more than 200 appearances for Manchester City between 1997 and 2003 and also representing the likes of West Ham United and Ipswich Town.
Horlock also played 32 times on the international stage for Northern Ireland.
Mark Levey will be Horlock's assistant replacing Liam Bailey, who has left Park Drive.
