WALTON Indoor Bowls Club came out on top when they entertained Courtaulds Halstead at the Columbine Centre on Sunday.
They won on all four rinks to romp home 70-42, in a triples match, and ond only one was closely fought.
The biggest winners were the trio of Mike Smith, John Wood and Barbara Flaxman, who saw off their opposition 20-8.
Results (Walton first): M Smith, J Wood, B Flaxman 20-8; R Wood, B Webb, L Boddy 17-11; E Boddy, C Hargis, B Harding 16-9; L Boxall, A Rawling, G Hadley 17-14.
Another triples match saw Walton come off second best when their ladies visited West Mersea and lost 53-43.
Anne Guild, Olivia Lane and Val Newby were their only winners, getting home 18-15.
But they had to survive a scare, seeing a commanding 14-2 lead wiped out before regaining the initiative by winning the last two ends.
