TERRY Rymer is ready to embrace a new challenge at FC Clacton.
And the striker is setting his sights high - by trying to help the Seasiders follow former club Brightlingsea Regent into the Ryman League.
The 26-year-old played a major part in guiding Regent up to step four football, via the Essex and Suffolk Border League and both divisions of the Thurlow Nunn League.
They booked their place in Ryman One North last season but work commitments, meaning he cannot train on Thursday nights, led to Rymer reluctantly calling it a day at North Road.
He was quickly snapped up by Clacton boss Glenn Eldridge and netted his first goals in Saturday’s stunning 4-0 victory at Haverhill Rovers.
Now he has high hopes for what can hopefully be achieved, in time, at the Rush Green Bowl.
“I see this as a new challenge and would love to try and help Clacton make the same step up as Brightlingsea, into the Ryman League,” said the former Tendring Technology College pupil, who lives in Weeley.
