THERE was a full field for the monthly stableford - open to gents and ladies - at Frinton Golf Club.
It was a sunny and warm day, but the wind was fierce and took its toll.
Andrew Woodger was the winner, out in front with 38 points.
Two men scored 35, but Malcolm King was awarded second on countback, ahead of Robert Newton.
Caroline Grey represented the ladies' section and finished in the middle of the field.
Four teams of ladies braved the driving rain to play for the Daily Mail Foursomes.
Mother and daughter pairing Tracey and Lily Taylor won it with 79.5 nett.
Linda Hayles and Grey were in second place with 79.5.
Lily also won the juniors' Daily Telegraph competition with a nett of 67 and her handicap was cut once again, this time to 20.
Lily has come down 12 shots since June.
The seniors, juniors and ladies played for the Yansy Cup.
The ladies won and the photo shows seniors' captain Malcolm Boucher presenting the trophy to lady captain Angela Vaughan.
The annual Green King over-60s inter-club competition took place at Colchester and Frinton secured third place. Boucher and John Oakford were the best Frinton scorers, with 42 points.
Frinton played in the quarter-finals of the Thornton Plate against Benton Hall and won 7½-2½.
They will go on to play Burstead in the semi-finals in September.
