Matt Lockwood has admitted he cannot wait for his Colchester United nightmare to end.
The experienced defender will be released on a free transfer this summer, after a forgettable spell with the U’s.
Lockwood signed for Colchester from Nottingham Forest, two years ago.
However, the 33-year-old has only managed six league appearances for the U’s in that time.
Now he is hoping to start afresh at a new club next season, as he looks to get his career back on track.
Lockwood told the Gazette: “Colchester United has been the worst time of my career.
“It’s been awful."
