Colchester United have signed midfielder Craig Eastmond on a two-year deal from Premier League club Arsenal.

The 22-year-old will join the U's on a permanent basis when his current contract at the Emirates expires at the end of June.

Eastmond made a big impact at Colchester when he joined them on loan from the Gunners, last September.

He made 13 appearances for the U's, scoring twice but suffered a foot injury which cut short his temporary spell at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

However, Eastmond will be a permanent Colchester player from next season, after agreeing to be Joe Dunne's first summer signing.
