Michail Antonio wants to sign off in style for Colchester United tomorrow.

But the young winger has left the door open for a return to the Weston Homes Community Stadium, later this season.

Antonio is due to play his final game for the U’s at Tranmere Rovers, following the end of his three-month loan spell from the Royals.

However, the London-born attacker said he would be open to the prospect of rejoining Colchester again in the new year - should the opportunity arise.

Antonio said: “You never know - you might see me here again.

“I’d like to be playing Championship football and every footballer wants to step up.

“But for the Colchester manager to say that he would be interested in bringing me back here is great.

“If he wants to come in for me in January and promise me games, I’m not in the position to say no."
