Colchester United defender Tom Bender has been released from hospital.
The 18-year-old has been assessed by medical staff and has been allowed home.
He was stretchered off after suffering a head injury playing on loan for Accrington Stanley in their Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie with Tranmere Rovers, last night.
Bender will now be monitored and will receive further checks in the coming days.
