Colchester United manager John Ward has not ruled out the possibility of striker Kevin Lisbie returning to the club next season.

Lisbie is one of a number of players who have been made available for transfer by Ipswich Town.

The 31-year-old spent last season on loan at the U's and finished as the club's leading goalscorer with 13 goals, before returning to Town.

Lisbie looks set to end his unhappy spell at Portman Road this summer and has been linked with the likes of newly-promoted Millwall and League One side Southampton.

However, speaking at the U's Open Day at the Weston Homes Community Stadium today, boss Ward said he still wants the chance to try to lure Lisbie to Colchester for a third spell, though he admitted he is unsure he will get the opportunity.

Ward said: “Kevin Lisbie is talking to other clubs.

“Whether we get to speak to him is in the balance at the moment.”
