Robbie Cowling believes new manager John Ward's knowledge of Coca-Cola League One can help Colchester United achieve success next season.
Ward was unveiled as the U's new boss this afternoon, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium and succeeds Aidy Boothroyd in the role.
Ward has been promoted from being assistant manager under Boothroyd, last season.
The former Bristol Rovers and Carlisle United manager has signed a one-year rolling contract and will be assisted by U's stalwart Joe Dunne.
Cowling said: “We’re delighted that John has accepted the position.
“He’s been very successful at the clubs he’s managed and has a great pedigree.
“He knows this league really well and we’re looking forward to another good season at Colchester.
“We want to kick-on from what we have achieved."
