Colchester United’s players should embrace their on-going promotion push.
That’s the view of U’s assistant manager John Ward, who feels they should not be scared of the important season run-in.
Colchester travel to play Exeter City at St James’ Park this afternoon (3pm kick-off) in search of three points, having gone six matches without a win.
And they entertain fellow promotion candidates Millwall in another key game on Easter Monday, as the season draws to a conclusion.
Following the Grecians’ match today, Aidy Boothroyd’s side face three successive games against teams perched in the top-five, in Coca-Cola League One.
U’s number two Ward has tasted promotion before with the likes of Bristol City and Cheltenham Town.
And he believes those experiences can be vital, at this crucial stage of the campaign.
Ward said: “It’s not a situation to be fearful of."
