Clive Platt has insisted Colchester United can get their season back on track – despite suffering two heavy defeats on the bounce.

The U’s suffered a 5-0 mauling at the hands of rivals Norwich City at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Defeat against the Canaries followed hot on the heels of their 7-0 FA Cup trouncing at Preston North End and Colchester have now conceded 12 goals without reply in their last two matches.

However, the U’s still lie in fourth spot in Coca-Cola League One and striker Platt is confident they can get back to winning ways sooner rather than later.

Platt said: “With the players we’ve got and the staff we’ve got here, there’s no way that our season will go off the rails after these two results."
