Liam Rosenior believes Ipswich Town’s class will shine through – despite their current predicament near the foot of the Championship.

The Blues stay third-from-bottom following Tuesday’s 0-0 draw at home to basement boys Peterborough.

It was their third stalemate in four games and 12th draw of the season, including seven at Portman Road.

However, Rosenior is staying defiant and said: “We were better than them in every department.

“Like at Bristol City on Saturday (also 0-0), we should have scored four or five goals.

“We were kept in the changing room for a long while by the manager after the game (on Tuesday).

“He’s a winner and I feel sorry for him.

“He must have gone home thinking what more could he do.

“Form is temporary but class is permanent, though, and I’m sure we’ll get it right.

“There are a lot of winners in our dressing room and the day I accept a goal-less home draw is the day I need to hang up my boots.”

Rosenior felt his side were desperately unlucky to have a goal ruled out, for a foul by striker Stern John.

“Stern just rose above his marker, a small guy,” said the Reading loanee.

“The referee was the only person in the stadium who thought it was a foul.

“And just after that, their player lifted his arm and the ball struck him in the penalty area.

“I could hear the smack against his arm. It was a clear handball.”

Town boss Roy Keane admitted he is getting fed up using the word “frustrated”, to describe his mindset after games.

“We had chance after chance but kept missing,” he said.

“In the second half we didn’t play well, with too many aimless passes and long balls that suited their central defenders.

“If you’re in the right area you should take a shot and not complicate matters by taking two or three touches trying to set up a team-mate.

“It doesn’t work that way.”
