MAGNUS Okuonghae has told Colchester United fans they are yet to see the best of him.
The 23-year-old (pictured) has made a huge impression since signing for the U’s from Dagenham and Redbridge, last summer.
Okuonghae’s consistent performances have been rewarded in the shape of a contract extension.
The defender has added 12 months to his deal, which was due to run out in 2011.
Okuonghae has shone so far for Colchester, helping them rise to fourth place in Coca-Cola League One.
But the powerful centre-half – nicknamed “the Beast” by U’s fans – believes he can now get even better, having pledged his long-term future to the club.
Okuonghae told the Gazette: “To be performing regularly was my aim and it has been a great start to life at Colchester.
“But at this point in time, I wouldn’t say I’m playing my best football.
“I know there is plenty of room for improvement.
“I am delighted to have signed the new contract.
“Now I can just get my head down and concentrate on performing well.”
