COLCHESTER United boss Paul Lambert is looking to strenghten his injury ravaged defence.
The U’s boss had to reshuffle his starting line-up before last night's 1-0 win against Yeovil Town after injuries against Peterborough United last Saturday left them without four defenders.
And Lambert was robbed of the services of Phil Ifil and Kem Izzet at half-time against Yeovil.
Ifil suffered a gash to his shin, while midfielder Izzet picked up a hamstring injury before the end of the first half, forcing the Colchester manager to reshuffle his side yet again.
“We’re down to the bare bones but the lads have given everything and they’ve been terrific for me,” added Lambert."
Meanwhile, Lambert confirmed that he is in the market for more signings before the deadline for emergency loan deals closes on Thursday.
The U’s boss has already signed Easter, Sam Williams and Lee Hills on temporary deals since his appointment as manager last month.
And he revealed that he is keen to do more business in the coming days, with the injury list growing fast.
He added: “We have to wait until January for permanent signings but we’re trying to bring in a couple more bodies on loan before the weekend.”
