Ryan Clampin remains sidelined with a knee injury.

Colchester interim head coach Wayne Brown on Hartlepool clash:

“It’s not a dead rubber; it’s another opportunity.

“When they step over that white line, their reputation is on the line and that’s got to be their mentality.

“They’ve got to want to be the best player on the pitch, finish the season on a high as an individual and help as a collective get the three points."

Opposition view

Michael Nelson and Anthony Sweeney will take charge of the Hartlepool team for today's game, after Graeme Lee was sacked as manager on Thursday.

A club statement said: “Since losing to Rotherham United on 9th March, the team has won only one of 11 games, picking up just seven points and scoring eight goals.

“Additionally, previously strong home form has not been maintained with no home win since 15th February, resulting in just three points and only three goals in seven games during this period.”
