COLCHESTER United visit Salford City today, as they begin life without boss Hayden Mullins.

Wayne Brown takes charge of the U's for the first time, after being named as their interim head coach.

Colchester are aiming for their first win in eight league matches.

From team news to line-ups, key men and the referee, all you need to know can be found below ahead of the game at Moor Lane (kick-off 3pm).

U's team news

Colchester are set to welcome back Shamal George to their starting line-up today.

The former Liverpool goalkeeper has not featured for the U's since suffering a rib injury in their defeat at Stevenage, last November.

He is set to replace Jake Turner, who has returned to parent club Newcastle United following the completion of his loan.

Colchester could hand a debut to latest new signing Myles Kenlock, after the left-back joined on loan from Ipswich Town on Thursday.

However, Ryan Clampin (knee) is still out.

Salford City: King, Vassell, Turnbull, Eastham, Kelly, Watson, Lowe, Love, Hunter, McAleny, Elliott

Opposition view

Salford defender Theo Vassell told the Salford website: “We can’t take it for granted where we are in the table.

"We’ve taken points off teams above us they can look at us like that so we need to treat every game the same by doing things right, keep playing our football, and hopefully that will deliver the three points.

“We’ve got a lot of games coming up, these next few weeks will be tough for us all but we believe that if we can pick up points over these games we can put ourselves in a great position.”
