Colchester United were beaten at home by Sutton United

The U's lie 19th in the table after sliding to a second successive defeat in a match where they played for more than an hour with ten men, following Samson Tovide's red card.

Some Colchester fans voiced their displeasure towards chairman Robbie Cowling, during the game.

Played well with 10 men weirdly, better organised but then Sutton didn’t need to do much so maybe that was the reason. Noah Chilvers continues to grow into this team. Sadly 3 errors lead to the goals again. Team is lacking a lot and this isn’t going to get better sadly

Agree with everyone’s comments. Cowling an issue for another day. Look what happened with Tidsdale helping. Decent manager will alleviate a lot of problems. Don’t normally like early sacking but it’s clear it won’t turnaround so no point delaying. Squad could be okay.

Clueless management yet again. Losing at home with 10 men and still doesn’t make all three subs. Mullins is out of this depth and a cardboard cut out would be just as effective in the technical area. Set up wrong and failed to adapt to the game. Has to go asap.

As a world class straw grabber, I offer the following: Chilvers was excellent & looks back to his best; Kennedy played positively; it could have been worse. Also, I understand the frustration,& some of the decisions are frankly bizarre (let us pick our own seats! ,but for better or worse, I think Cowling ultimately makes decisions he thinks are best for the club. Needs to be humble enough to make wholesale changes.

Worst manager since Kevin keen. He hasn’t got a clue how to manage and cowling makes statements which he can put where the sun don’t shine. My club is going to non-league and nobody will understand the sadness I have right now. For the first time ever I teared up after today.

Mullins is tactically inept. Players punting the ball to no one constantly, actually pointless. Players can’t seem to cross the ball. With the experience in the squad we should be much better. Sutton played a great passing game.
