ARAMIDE Oteh's arrival on loan at Colchester United from Queens Park Rangers yesterday was one of a number of transfers between the two clubs over recent years.

The Gazette looks back at five other players who have joined the U's from the West London outfit over the past few seasons.

1 OLAMIDE SHODIPO

The young attacker joined Colchester on loan from Rangers in the second half of the 2017-18 season.

He made six appearances in total for John McGreal's side before returning to Loftus Road.

Shodipo, 23, is still at QPR and is currently on loan at League One side Oxford United where he has scored six times in eight league starts, this season.

2 BRANDON COMLEY

Midfielder Comley initially joined Colchester on loan from QPR in August, 2017.

He then made the transfer permanent six months later and during his time at the U's, he made more than 50 league appearances.

Comley left Colchester at the end of last season and joined their League Two rivals, Bolton Wanderers.

3 JAMIE SENDLES-WHITE

The defender started his career at QPR but failed to make a senior appearance for the London club.

He joined Colchester on loan in the 2013-14 season but did not appear for Colchester.

Sendles-White left Rangers in August 2015 and has had loan spells for the likes of Leyton Orient, Swindon Town and Hamilton.

He is currently plying his trade in the National League for Aldershot Town.

4 COLE KPEKAWA

Kepkawa rose through the youth ranks at QPR and made six league appearances for them.

The defender initially joined Colchester on loan in November, 2014 and played six times for them, before returning to Rangers.

Kpekawa joined Colchester on a permanent basis in July, 2017 for an undisclosed fee.

But he managed only eight appearances for the U's after that and left in the summer of 2018.

He has since represented the likes of St Mirren and Billericay Town and is currently playing for Chelmsford City.

5 MARTIN ROWLANDS

The talented midfielder made nearly 200 league appearances for QPR before leaving them to join Colchester in February, 2012.

The former Brentford man played nine times for John Ward's side during his brief spell at the U's.

Rowlands went on to play for the likes of Leyton Orient and Aldershot Town.

1 MACAULEY BONNE

The striker joined QPR from Charlton Athletic last October, for an undisclosed fee.

The Zimbabwe international rose through the youth ranks at the U's and made nearly 100 league and cup appearances for them before leaving to join Leyton Orient, in 2017.

2 DILLON BARNES

Barnes made a total of 30 league and cup appearances during his time at Colchester, between 2015 and 2019.

The goalkeeper left the U's in the summer of 2019 to join QPR and this week secured a loan move to League One side Burton Albion.

3 MATT CONNELLY

The defender played in the Championship for Colchester in the 2007-08 season, after signing on loan from Premier League side Arsenal.

He made 16 appearances for Geraint Williams' side before returning to the Gunners, so did not strictly join QPR directly from the U's.

Connelly joined QPR in January 2008 for a fee of £1m and made more than 100 league starts for the West London side before leaving them for Cardiff City, in 2012.

4 HOGAN EPHRAIM

The attacker made a positive impact for Colchester during their first season in the Championship, making 21 league and cup appearances for Geraint Williams' side on loan from West Ham United.

The following season, he joined QPR on loan from West Ham - fitting into the same category as Connelly in joining them indirectly from the U's - and then made the move permanent in January, 2008 for a fee of £800,000.

Ephraim played for the likes of Leeds United, Charlton Athletic and Bristol City, in the latter years of his playing career.

5 CHRIS BARKER

The full-back was outstanding for Colchester in their first season in the Championship while on loan from Cardiff City, in the 2006-07 campaign.

In June, 2007, Barker signed for QPR on a two-year deal.

The defender went on to play for the likes of Southend United and Plymouth Argyle.

Barker tragically died on January 1, 2020 at the age of just 39.
