BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent have boosted their squad by making a triple signing.

The Pitching In Isthmian League Premier side have added former FC Clacton trio Kyelan Marvell, Max Booth and Chris Ribchester to their ranks.

Central midfielder Marvell racked up more than 300 appearances for the Seasiders.

The former Colchester United youngster joined FC Clacton in 2008 and has been there ever since, captaining the Thurlow Nunn League side.

Brightlingsea boss Tom Austin said: “Kyelan is another real quality signing for the club.

“A technical player who is comfortable in possession and reads the game very well.

“He will add much needed experience to a very young squad.

“Coming through the ranks at Colchester United and playing the amount of games he has will also hold him in good stead at Step 3.

"I’m sure he will have no problem adapting to the level.

“Kye is a midfielder at heart but is very versatile and can also play in the back four.

“He will lead by example week in, week out and become an integral part of the squad on and off the pitch.”

Regent have also snapped up striker Max Booth from Coggeshall Town.

Booth has made ten appearances for Coggeshall since joining them from Cambridge City, in March.

He is a player known well to Austin having previously played under him at FC Clacton where he made 17 appearances in 2018, scoring five goals.

Booth came through Needham Market's academy system and spent six months at Ipswich Town.

Austin said: “Max will be one I’m sure the fans are going to enjoy.

"He’s quick, got great feet and beats people for fun, still only 21 he has bags of potential as he can play anywhere in the front three.

"I’m really excited to see what Max can do performing in a Regent shirt! Definitely one to watch for me."

Regent have also completed the signing of Ribchester, from FC Clacton.

The towering 6ft 5in defender made 176 appearances for the Seasiders, scoring 26 goals.

Ribchester has also played for Felixstowe and Walton United, Heybridge Swifts, Maldon and Tiptree, Holland and Stanway Rovers before returning to FC Clacton under Tom Austin, in 2019.

Austin said: “Me and Ribbo have known each other a very long time, he’s a man mountain on the pitch standing at 6ft 5in.

“At 30 years old he will be bringing plenty of experience with him to our young side.

“Very strong in the air and also over the past two seasons he has really worked on his distribution which is a key factor to the type of side me and Salts are looking to build.

“I’m sure he will become a real fans favourite as he is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met off the pitch.”
