FC CLACTON have been handed a tough trip to play Southern Premier League Central Division side Kings Langley in the FA Cup first qualifying round.

Tom Austin's side will travel to The Orbital Fasteners Stadium to take on their hosts next Tuesday, following an epic penalty shoot-out win over Hadley at The Austin Arena on Saturday.

Kieran Wales scored the winning spot-kick as the Seasiders won 10-9 in the shoot-out, to settle the preliminary round contest.

After the match had ended 1-1 after 90 minutes the tie went straight to penalties, with Wales stepping up to slot home the decisive kick and bring to an end an epic shootout.

Clacton came into the match looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat to Brantham, and they were able to welcome Chris Ribchester and Jordan Blackwell back into the starting line-up.

Hadley were also looking to bounce back from a recent defeat to Hashtag United, and with both sides boasting near identical early season records, a tight encounter was on the cards.

And so it proved, with Luke Alfano levelling for the visitors just past the hour mark after Charlie Durling had given the Seasiders the lead eight minutes before the break.

Billy Wales swung over a corner from the right and the ball eventually found its way to Durling who converted from close range for his first goal for the club.

With the scores level at full-time the match went straight to penalties, and after 18 successful spot-kicks it was the Seasiders who grabbed the advantage in the shootout when Luke Avenell saved Shaz Anwar's attempt.

That left Kieran Wales to step up and convert his penalty low into the bottom corner to book the Seasiders' place in the FA Cup first qualifying round for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

FC Clacton return to Thurlow Nunn League action this weekend when they host Gorleston, at The Austin Arena.
