FC CLACTON will host Hadley FC in the FA Cup preliminary round after beating Hoddesdon Town.

Tom Austin's side will entertain the Hertfordshire-based Essex Senior League club on September 12, after they made progress in the competition.

Second-half goals from Mekhi McKenzie and Charlie Thompson saw FC Clacton beat Hoddesdon Town 2-1 to win their extra preliminary round tie.

The game took place at Wodson Park, home of Ware FC.

Clacton's next opponents Hadley beat Hullbridge Sports 2-0 in their extra-preliminary round tie, to go through to the next round.

FC Clacton get their Thurlow Nunn League season underway, this weekend.

They host Haverhill Rovers at the Austin Arena on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

The Seasiders have confirmed a number of players who will be in their squad, this season.

Kieran Wales, Jordan Blackwell, Adam Daniels, Kyelan Marvell, Chris Ribchester, Zach Walter, Billy Wales, Luke Avenell, Finley Caro, Charlie Thompson, Jordan Lartey, Finn Mackman and Mekhi McKenzie have all been confirmed for their first-team squad, for the coming season.

Clacton played two friendlies, prior to their FA Cup win at Hoddesdon.

After a 2-0 defeat to Brightlingsea Regent, they rounded off their preparations for the new season with a 3-2 win over Witham Town, at The Austin Arena.
