JAMIE O’Hara insists he does not fear Billericay Town will be dragged into a relegation dogfight.

Although Billericay have up to four games in hand over the sides around them in the National League South standings, 19th-placed Town are just a point above the drop zone.

Billericay are facing a trip to Eastbourne Borough tomorrow and, while he is certain his side will be featuring in the second tier of non-league football again next season, O’Hara realises Town must put points on the board this weekend.

O’Hara, who was installed as player-manager in September, said: “They are all must-win games for us now.

“They’re all big games and we have got to get results.

“But we’ll be fine. We’re not worried about looking down the table, we’re looking up.

“We’ve still got four games in hand over a lot of teams, so we are not worried about that.

“We’ll get results and keep grinding.

“We’ve got a good side and we’ll find the results we need to get.”

Eastbourne are just one point better off than Billericay, in 18th.

A victory could see Town climb as high as 14th, but O’Hara’s side will not be getting carried away.

They required an injury time winner from Jake Robinson to overcome Eastbourne on the opening day of the campaign.

However, a lot has changed since then, with both sides changing managers and numerous players departing.

O’Hara secured his first managerial job following the sacking of Harry Wheeler in September, while former Bournemouth striker Lee Bradbury was shown the door by Eastbourne after a poor start to the season.

Eastbourne go into the contest having appeared to have turned a corner since the turn of the year.

Tomorrow’s hosts have tasted just one National League South defeat in 2020, with that coming in the form of a 2-1 defeat to play-off chasers Dartford last time out.

Billericay are unbeaten in their last three outings and drew 1-1 with Oxford City in midweek.
