COLCHESTER United duo Luke Gambin and Brandon Comley experienced mixed fortunes in their international games.

The U's pair jetted off to play for their countries, in their respective matches.

Gambin played 81 minutes for Malta in their 1-0 Euro 2020 qualifier defeat in Romania, last Sunday.

The U's attacker had been an unused substitute in Malta's 2-0 in Norway, last Thursday.

The results leave Malta fifth in qualifying Group F, after six matches.

Comley suffered late disappointment last night as Montserrat were held to a 1-1 draw with St Lucia, in their CONCACAF Nations League, League B match.

It had looked for a long time that Montserrat would claim victory but they conceded an 87th-minute penalty to draw.

Comley also played 90 minutes for Montserrat in their 2-1 triumph against the Dominican Republic, last Saturday.

The U's midfielder's brother - James Comley - was on target in the qualifier.

Montserrat currently sit top of League B, after the two matches.

Gambin and Comley will both be hoping to be named in Colchester's starting line-up for their game at Forest Green Rovers in League Two, this weekend.

The duo missed the U's goal-less draw with Walsall, last weekend.
