THEO Robinson says he wants to help Colchester United achieve good things after joining them on loan from Southend United.

The 30-year-old forward has joined the U’s until January and could make his debut in their game at Oldham Athletic tomorrow afternoon.

Robinson told the U's website: “I’m really excited.

“I want to come here and play football and help the team achieve good things.

“Hopefully, with my experience, I can help the rest of the boys.”

Robinson also spent the second half of last season on loan in League Two with Swindon Town.

And he hopes his latest stint away from Southend will be equally as successful.

“I had a loan spell last year with Swindon which I really enjoyed,” said Robinson, who has scored 20 goals in 104 appearances for Southend.

“I scored seven goals in 15 games and it would be great if I could do that here now.”

Robinson is looking forward to linking up with former Southend team-mate Frank Nouble.

“I know a couple of the boys, especially Frank who I’m good mates with,” said Robinson.

“I spoke to him before coming here and he said it was a really good set up so I can’t wait to get going.”
