HARWICH and Parkeston are back in the FA Cup.

A decade on from their last appearance in the world-famous competition - a 4-1 defeat at London Colney in August 2009 - the Shrimpers featured in Friday's draw.

Both the extra preliminary round and preliminary round ties were revealed, with Kieron Shelley's side handed a trip to Ilford on August 10.

If they successfully clear that hurdle, they will then be at home to Romford.

It promises to be a great occasion for Harwich, who qualified for the FA Cup again after finishing sixth in last season's Thurlow Nunn League first division south. They are also full members of the FA.

Elsewhere, other Thurlow Nunn League sides also featured and there was a home tie for FC Clacton, against St Margaretsbury.

Coggeshall United, making their debut in the competition, will be away to Woodbridge Town while Stanway Rovers are away to Hullbridge Sports.

Brantham Athletic are away to Hoddesdon and Halstead Town away to Sawbridgeworth.

The winners of the extra preliminary round ties pocket a cool £2,250 while the losers walk away with £750.

The preliminary round ties take place on August 24.

The draw for the first qualifying round of the FA Vase also took place and highlights include Clacton v Southend Manor, Holland FC v Baldock Town, Hoddesdon v Stanway, Long Melford v Little Oakley, Cockfosters v Coggeshall United, Halstead v Haverhill Borough, Wivenhoe v Clapton Community and Lopes Tavares v Harwich.

In the extra preliminary round of the FA Trophy, Heybridge Swifts have been handed a home date with Hertford Town.

Maldon and Tiptree will entertain Felixstowe and Walton United and Coggeshall Town are away to Bracknell Town.

Witham Town enter at the preliminary round stage and will be away to Ashford Town.

Elsewhere, next season's BetVictor Isthmian League fixtures were released on Thursday.

Premier division side Brightlingsea Regent will start with a trip across the Kent border, to visit Margate.

The north division kicks-off the following weekend - August 17 - and fixtures include Coggeshall Town v AFC Sudbury, Histon v Heybridge, Hullbridge v Witham and Maldon v Soham Town Rangers.
