COLCHESTER United supporters will get the chance to put their questions to chairman Robbie Cowling when the club host their popular Open Day, this weekend.

U’s fans can meet the players, watch the squad train and take part in a question and answer session with Cowling and head coach John McGreal at the annual event, which takes place at the JobServe Community Stadium on Sunday between 11am and 4pm.

There will also be free football sessions for youngsters, a Mascot Race, local exhibitors and food, drink and games on offer.

In addition, U’s supporters can get their hands on the club’s much-talked about new kits for the first time.

McGreal added: “It’s always a brilliant day.

“There’s questions there with the Q&A and it’s a great event.

“The boys come back from a tough week in Carden Park and are straight in on Sunday and put in a bit of a session there.

“Each year, you see more and more younger fans there which is great and we want to bring that new group of fans in.

“The likes of Szmodics and Kent have gone but now we’re looking for the younger fans to meet their new idols.

“The only way to do that is starting on Sunday with the Open Day with meeting the players face to face and one to one and finding out the personality of the players, too.

“It’s great, because the players are conducive to that and the fans love it, too.”
