EVERY successful team needs a top goalkeeper and today we need your help to discover our best non-league shot-stopper.

We asked for your nominations and now have a shortlist of five for you to vote for.

It's part of our quest to reveal the Gazette's non-league all-stars for 2018/19.

Having begun our search yesterday by asking you to vote for managers, today we're looking for a safe pair of hands between the posts - our top goalkeeper.

The glovemen you nominated are Ben Killip (Braintree Town), James Bradbrook (Brightlingsea Regent), Danny Sambridge (Coggeshall Town), Chris Haigh (Heybridge Swifts) and Luca Collins (Witham Town).

Despite Braintree's relegation from the Vanarama National League, Killip, who has just moved to Hartlepool United, was a key and consistent performer for the Iron.

He made 38 appearances and kept ten clean sheets, winning the supporters' player-of-the-year award and also being rewarded at international level as he won two caps for Paul Fairclough’s England C team.

Bradbrook is also on the move this summer, having opted to leave Regent after a highly-impressive first season with the Bostik League club.

An ever-present during their premier division campaign, he scooped two awards at the end-of-year presentation night.

In addition to being named young player-of-the-year, he also made most appearances during the season.

Sambridge and Haigh were dependable keepers for Coggeshall and Swifts respectively.

Both played pivotal roles in helping their clubs reach the Bostik League division north play-offs, with supporters' player-of-the-year Haigh crowning his memorable campaign with three saves in the penalty shoot-out against Maldon and Tiptree.

Last but certainly not least is Witham young gun Collins, who played a key role in helping his club stave off relegation and maintain their Bostik League status.

Along the way, he won the north division Golden Gloves award for December.

It followed an impressive spell in which he only conceded once in five matches.

On Monday, we'll start another poll to determine our top full-back.
