HARWICH and Parkeston vice-chairman and photographer Chris Smith has taken this stunning aerial shot of the Shrimpers' famous Royal Oak ground.

It was taken using his "new toy" - a drone - and clearly show the excellent condition of the club's pitch.

"It looks great, considering we've just come to the end of a long season," said Smith.

"There are just a few areas to repair and then it should look good again for next year.

"It demonstrates how much pride and effort has gone into the club this season.

"That pitch has probably had at least 80 games on it and it's definitely helped signing up to the Essex FA's pitch improvement plan, which is a free service and gives you access to some great advice and assistance from professionals.

"It's ideal for grassroots clubs with limited budgets like ourselves."

Harwich finished an impressive fifth in Thurlow Nunn League division one south last season, winning 22 of their 36 matches.
