Colchester United played out a 1-1 draw at Yeovil Town, on Easter Monday.
Tom Eastman's equaliser with 15 minutes remaining cancelled out Jake Gray's opener and earned a point for the U's at Huish Park.
Colchester had to play most of the second half with only ten men, after goalkeeper Dillon Barnes was sent off for violent conduct.
The result sees Colchester remain two points off the play-off places in the League Two table with two games to go, and John McGreal’s men host MK Dons, this weekend.
Here, Colchester United reporter Jonathan Waldron rates the players following the 1-1 draw on the road:
DILLON BARNES 4
Should really have stopped Gray’s shot for Yeovil’s goal and was needlessly sent off
RYAN JACKSON 6
Produced a typically professional performance and got forward well
TOM EASTMAN 7
Took his goal very well and was strong in the air throughout
FRANKIE KENT 7
Was unlucky not to score with an effort that hit the bar in the second half and defended well
BRENNAN DICKENSON 6
Slotted in pretty competently at left-back and provided the corner for Eastman’s equaliser
SAM SAUNDERS 7
Was Colchester’s best player in the first half before being taken off after Barnes’ dismissal
TOM LAPSLIE 7
U’s man of the match. Never stopped battling for the cause and was typically committed
COURTNEY SENIOR 6
Showed flashes of his skill and might have had a second-half penalty
SAMMIE SZMODICS 6
U’s leading scorer was pretty well contained by the Yeovil defence
ABO EISA 5
Had little impact in the first half and missed a good chance before being taken off
FRANK NOUBLE 6
Was a willing worker for his side but kept pretty quiet by the home defence
SUBSTITUTES
ETHAN ROSS (for Barnes, 53) 7
Made a great save soon after coming on and showed good handling
MIKAEL MANDRON (for Eisa, 67) 6
Made his presence felt in the final quarter of the game
LUKE NORRIS (for Senior, 80)
SUBSTITUTES (NOT USED): Kensdale, Chilvers, Stevenson, Wright.
