ANOTHER week has passed and sadly, yet again, it has not fully gone to plan.

In fact, that's an understatement and nothing has gone to plan.

On Saturday, Colchester United suffered another loss - admittedly only 2-0, though, so getting better if you cling to things like that.

It was their third in a row and along with the nine points dropped, they have conceded eight and not scored any.

In some areas of social media and within the fan base, it has set alarm bells ringing and shouts of another wasted season.

I fully understand that and get the frustration.

But I, along with some other fans, look to the problem in another light.

This late in the season, our midfield curse is again playing a part and the resulting injuries have ripped the heart out of our team.

So what do we now do?

Already say the season is over, even though we have games to play and start the inquest?

Or, as has been said before, do we back the team to the very last game and that final whistle in May?

Now is the time for a hero to stand up. Cometh the hour, cometh the man.

The gaze should now fall on the likes of Elsa and Dickenson.

Let's look to start them and give them a chance, along with the rest of the team, to write their names in Col U history.

Everyone can replay THAT Moncur goal against Preston North End in their head - what is to stop a member of the current squad doing the same?

That is why we have to believe and support while it is still mathematically possible.

Talking of support and getting behind the team, this Saturday sees us making the short trip to Cambridge for what will no doubt be a great away for those that attend.

Not just for the football but also for the packed stands, the banter and singing along with the rivalry that goes with it.

It's well worth the short trip up the M11, hopefully crowned off by three points.

Staying on the football front, I would like to add how proud I am of Lawford Ladies.

This weekend saw them just missing out on the Essex County Women's Trophy, losing 3-2 in the final.

Their attitude and fighting spirit was second to none and they can all hold their heads up high and look back on how far they have come.

Although they say you should never meet your heroes or football club's legends, I had the chance to meet Steve Foley after the final and he is a top man, with time to chat about the football.

He was an all-round nice guy and made the defeat almost bearable by what he said.
