COLCHESTER United young gun Reuben Mudd has rejoined his former youth club, Holland FC.

The talented teenager has joined on a work experience loan arrangement.

Mudd, 18, had previously been on loan at Bostik League side Brightlingsea Regent but that deal expired on Saturday.

"We're delighted to be welcoming Reuben home," said Holland boss Rob Batten.

"He'll bring a physical, never-say-die approach and a directness up top, while his workrate and goalscoring ability is second to none.

"Reuben scored over 60 goals in his last youth season here, which was a treble-winning campaign for James Whyte’s Holland team.

"It was this form that brought him to the attention of Colchester and he's the third Holland youngster to go on and play for the U's, along with Jayden Randell and Kieran Michaels.

"It shows we must be doing something right."

Mudd has an ankle issue so will miss this weekend's Thurlow Nunn League first division south contest at home to Coggeshall United.
