WATFORD 3

COLCHESTER UNITED 0

COLCHESTER were defeated in their latest Professional Development League game, in a match played at Wingate and Finchley.

Facing a team who were a couple of places above them in the table, the U’s fell behind after just five minutes.

Michael Folivi scored his tenth goal of the season when he converted at the second attempt, from a delivery by Harry Forster.

The hosts added a second on 35 minutes when Forster smacked the ball left-footed into the roof of the net when he got on the end of a Ryan Cassidy cross.

Two-down at half-time, the visitors conceded a third six minutes after the break when Dan Phillips scored after more good work by Forster.

Just after the hour-mark, the Hornets had a great chance of a fourth goal but Folivi fired his spot-kick straight at the U’s keeper.

It had been a good week for Watford, who had beaten second-place QPR away 2-1 on Monday.
