GEORGE Keys has left Brightlingsea Regent and joined Leiston.
The defender arrived at the Taydal Stadium last season on a work experience loan from Colchester United.
He went on to play over 20 games, being crowned young player-of-the-year at the club's end-of-season awards evening.
Keys then signed for Regent in the summer, on a non-contract basis, after being released by the U's.
Brightlingsea boss Tom Rothery said: "George was excellent for us last season and deservedly won his award.
"I felt he really matured as the season went on.
"This season it’s been a bit tougher for him and the return of Ricky Griggs has also limited George’s playing time, so hopefully this move will be a good one for him.
"He’s moving to a good club and I hope he does really well.
"He’s a very professional young man and I’m sure he will do well."
