Gwion Edwards celebrates giving Ipswich the lead at Reading Pictures: Pagepix
IPSWICH Town suffered late heartache after conceding an equaliser and being forced to share the spoils from a 2-2 draw at Reading.
Paul Lambert's men led twice - and for the majority of the game - after early goals from Gwion Edwards and Freddie Sears.
But the Royals salvaged a point following an 84th-minute header from Yakou Meite.
Edwards scored inside five minutes with a right-footed shot from outside the box, which found the bottom-left corner.
It took the home side just two minutes to equalise, through Meite's left-footed shot from inside the area.
Ipswich responded once more in the 11th minute, as a mix-up at the back gave Sears the chance to get through on goal and slot past keeper Anssi Jaakkola.
But Meite's spectacular overhead kick at the near post for his sixth goal of the season, secured a point for the hosts.
