COLCHESTER United skipper Luke Prosser insists they are 'raring to go' ahead of their clash with Yeovil Town tonight.

The U's are looking for a response tonight, following their 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Bury, last weekend.

Colchester make a quick return to the JobServe Community Stadium this evening, hoping to close the gap on the top-three teams in League Two.

John McGreal's side have lost only twice in the league all season and Prosser says they cannot wait to get back out on the pitch.

Prosser said: “We sit fifth after ten games and you’d have probably taken that at the start of the season.

“There’s a lot of teams like us on 16 points so it’s pretty tight but you want to stay in and amongst it whether you win, lose or draw.

“We’re doing alright and we’re in a good place – the team spirit is still good which is the main thing.

“When you have a defeat and have another game on the Tuesday night, you’re really raring to go and looking forward to that already.

“We’re all disappointed (with the Bury defeat) don’t get me wrong - we all want to keep this place a fortress.

"But we lost to the better team, so we go again.

“We’re all buzzing for Tuesday again – it’s another home game and we’re raring to go and I’m sure that we’ll bounce straight back.

“After every defeat, that’s what we want to do and luckily, we have a game on Tuesday where we can go and do that."

Meanwhile, midfielder Louis Dunne could make a long-awaited return to action for Colchester by the end of the month.

The talented 20-year-old has been out for around nine months after undergoing knee surgery, in February.

Dunne - the son of former Colchester boss Joe Dunne - has been sidelined since rupturing his Anterior Cruciate Ligament in training.

But he edging nearer to match action now having resumed training at Florence Park and could feature in some of the U's under-23 clash with Cardiff City at the Community Stadium, on October 22.
