SOUTH Essex sports fans have a host of football and rugby clashes to look forward to this weekend.

Southend United welcome Joey Barton’s Fleetwood Town to Roots Hall for a League One encounter on Saturday, while a number of south Essex’s non-league sides are also in action.

Billericay Town, Bowers & Pitsea, Concord Rangers and East Thurrock United all have FA Cup second qualifying round matches to look forward to, while Canvey Island and Southend Manor are set to host league clashes.

Meanwhile, Southend Saxons and Basildon will be looking to get more points on the board as the rugby season continues.
