NORMAN Wabo hopes to have fired his way into first team contention after netting a hat-trick in Southend United’s under-23 team’s 5-2 win against Peterborough United yesterday.
Wabo bagged a trio of strikes at Boots & Laces to take his season’s tally to 11 goals in 10 games and the 20-year-old forward is now keen to feature for Chris Powell’s squad for the first time this season.
“Obviously everyone wants to be involved with the first team and it would be great if I could be because that’s what we’re all working towards,” said Wabo.
“I was really pleased to get the hat-trick and I feel like I’m in good form at the moment so it would be great to get a call but I’ll keep working hard whatever happens.”
Wabo made three substitute appearances for Blues’ first team last season.
