SAM Fombo bagged a brace of tries to help Rochford Hundred maintain their 100 per cent start to the London One North term.

Fombo touched down twice to help Hundred see off HAC 54-27 as they recorded their third successive win.

But Fombo was still not completely satisfied.

“It was a bit messy from us at the weekend,” said Fombo.

“We are scoring but we need to defend our lines a lot better than we did.

“We’ve started the season as well as I hoped for but we want to continue our performances without conceding so many tries and hopefully we will secure a double promotion.”

Fombo opened the scoring at Magnolia Road on Saturday with a try after just eight minutes which was converted by Tom Ashton.

The visitors hit back with a try of their own before Hundred raced further in front with a try from captain Harry Hudson which was again converted by Ashton.

HAC replied with a penalty to cut Rochford’s lead to 14-8 before the hosts got back on top with a try from Ben Johnson which was converted by Ashton before Hundred were reduced to 14 men when Danny Cleare was yellow carded.

However, Rochford were still able to bag another try with Fombo touching down to make it 28-8 at half-time.

After the break, Mark Ikhifa touched down for Rochford before Jamie Douglas bagged two tries of his own to put the hosts further in front.

And the free-scoring Ashton sealed the win with a try he was also able to convert.
