RAMADAM Osman led a big Colchester Harriers field to a fine team victory at the Langham 10km race.

Osman was on fire, finishing nearly three minutes clear of the field in a sensational time of 31 minutes 49 seconds at the event, contested by more than 700 runners.

Osman was joined by fourth-placed Danny Millward (35-16), Tom Cresswell (sixth, 36-12) and Colin Ridley (16th, 37-27), who took the over-50 trophy.

Andrea James was third lady, in 41-31.

The 5km event saw Craig Mitchell finish 12th in 19-37, ahead of Malcolm Statham (17th 20-44), Annette Oakman (22-17), Thomas Colsell (22-30), Noah Langford (28-33) and Graham Langford (28-36).

At the Clacton Triathlon rough seas greeted the competitors but Chris Sellens had a good fourth-place overall finish, thanks to a super 10km run of 37-00.

Paul Spowage found the sea swim the toughest he had come across but was pleased with his 12th overall finish and John Fryer kept working well in the cycle race to finish 33rd.

Ed Mitchell won the Colchester Castle park run in 16-43, with Jason Gunn runner-up in 17-05.

Ian Haw (18-32) was third ahead of Jon Nears (18-50).

Craig Mitchell was the first home at the Mersea Cudmore Grove Grove park run in 19-19, his second victory at the event.

Runner-up was Chris Smith in 19-29 while Tom Cresswell strode to victory at Great Cornard Notley Park run in 17-43.

The Mersea Triathlon saw great results from Laura Shewbridge, Becky Cooke and Sarah Stradling who all finished in the top four.
