Colchester United will not be making any new signings before the loan window closes tomorrow night.
U’s head coach John McGreal has confirmed that there will be no new arrivals and there are unlikely to be any departures, although the U’s head coach did say that ‘one or two’ of his under-23 players might depart on a temporary basis.
Defender Cameron James is attracting the attention of several non-league clubs and could depart on loan, before the window closes.
McGreal said: “We’re not expecting any ins or outs.
“All of our business is done and we’re not expecting anyone to go out, either.
“There’s a possibility that one or two under-23 players on the peripheral might possibly go out.
“We’re waiting to see if Cameron James is going out (on loan) but none of the squad, at this moment.
“We haven’t really got into the loans – we actually secured a few signings in the off season.
“We did our work early this year, which was pivotal for us to get that good start.
“Come this weekend, everyone will know what they’ve got and we’re all on a level playing field as such.”
Colchester brought in attacker Aaron Collins on a season-long loan from Wolves earlier this summer but will not be making any further signings before the transfer window reopens, in January.
