Caroline Westley admitted loving every second of her World Olympic Student Games adventure in Thailand.

The 22-year-old has just returned home to Clacton after being picked to represent Great Britain at the prestigious event in Bangkok.

And, after reaching the quarter-finals of the team event, plus the last 32 in the singles, she admitted the experience was an amazing learning curve'.

"It was a fantastic opportunity and very enjoyable," she told the Gazette.

"I had some good matches, won a couple of games and was pleased with the way I performed, although overall the likes of Thailand, China and Indonesia were just too strong. They out-classed us."

Westley and her British team-mates enjoyed comfortable victories against Uganda and Canada in the group stage, before a 5-0 quarter-final exit at the hands of Indonesia.

In the singles, she beat two opponents before bowing out - again to an Indonesian opponent.

"We knew they were going to be strong, but not that strong," said Westley, a former pupil at St Osyth Primary School and Clacton County High School.
