THE Colchester and Tendring and Ipswich Harriers squad were in record-breaking form in their latest Eastern Masters AC Track and Field League meet, in Southend.

The men's M35 4x200m relay team of Lee Bowker, Aaron Bollu, Dan Gartlan and Justin Hubbard smashed their own record in a time of one minute 43.3 seconds.

They had previously held the EMAC championships record with a time of 1m 45.7s, set in 2017.

CATs' Justin Hubbard clocked 12.2 seconds to finish second in the 100 metres, in the M35 age category.

Lee Bowker from Ipswich Harriers ran the 400m in 58.6s for second place, where Aaron Bollu finished in the shot putt with a throw of 8.59m.

He was also first in the triple jump with a leap of 10.97m.

Dan Gartlan from Ipswich ran a non-scoring 100m in 13.2s and the 400m in 59.0s and jumped 10.34m, in the triple jump.

Colchester and Tendring and Ipswich only had one athlete, in the men's M50 category.

Peter Godron threw a PB in the hammer with a distance of 25.87m for third place, where he also finished in the shot putt with a solid 9.30m.

In the 2km walk, Stephen Cartwright finished fifth in the M60 walk in a time of 14m 13.1s.

Colchester and Tendring and Ipswich newcomer Elizabeth Welbourn ran a non-scoring 100m in 15.0s, in the W30.

CATs' Carey Hollick was the only woman in the W35 category and ran a PB in the 100m in 17.9s for seventh place.

She also threw a 7.25m to win the shot putt and was also second in the hammer, with 13.23m.

The rest of the athletes were from Ipswich and in the W50 age category.

Yvonne Holmes won the 100m in 15.1s and threw 6.37m in the shot putt, for second place while Hilary Cook was fifth in the 1,500m (7m 21.4s).

In the 4x200m W35 relay race, Hilary Cook, Yvonne Holmes, Carey Hollick and Elizabeth Welbourn finished fourth in a time of 2:34.0.
