STOKE by Nayland Golf Club Ladies' Bronze team claimed a resounding victory at Gosfield Lake, in their fourth match in the competition.

Corinne Jackson led the team out and won her match, 5&4.

Nora Hutchinson’s match was very close but she closed it out 2&1.

Debbie Howlett had an even tougher match, finally winning by one putt on the 18th hole.

The team captain, playing for the first time, won her match 8&6, while Hilary Cairns completed the set with a 7&6 win.

Anne Hemmings produced a stunning display to win Stoke by Nayland GC Ladies' 18-hole medal competition.

She returned a superb score of nett 71 to claim victory in the Silver Division on the Constable Course, ahead of runner-up Pamela Randle.

She finished second ahead of Amanda Byham on countback, after both players ended up with 76 nett.

The balls ran well on the manicured fairways and the greens were in great condition.

In the Bronze Division, Alison Jennings was first with 76 nett ahead of Elaine Davidson, who posted the same score.

Angela Cudmore was third with 79 nett.
