COLCHESTER Harriers' Adrian Mussett stormed to victory in the Colchester Stampede ten kilometre event.

The 46-year-old clocked a superb time of 32 minutes 40 seconds, to finish well clear of the field.

Mussett has been winning championships for more than 30 years and is still bringing home the prizes.

Paul Rodgers was eighth, in 37m 30s.

The Boxted 10km is a new race on the calendar and very warm weather was the order of the day for the small team of Harriers competing.

Gavin Scanlon has improved rapidly and was a good runner-up on a very tough off road course in 38m 10s.

Keith Marley was sixth overall and third veteran 40, with Richard Flutter tenth and first veteran over 50.

Simon Smith was just behind in 11th spot and took runners-up spot, in the over-50 category.

Debbie Cattermole continues to take the awards and was again first lady over-45 to take the silverware.

Other good runs came from Adam Gerrish, Malcolm Statham and Arthur Whiston.

Rachel Rodgers and Louise Yates were well up the field at the Nuclear Race, at Brentwood.

At the Paras junior event at Abbey fields, a host of Harriers youngsters all ran well, while Ian Haw was third overall in the ten-mile event.

Danny Millward was runner-up at the Castle Park Run with Ged McMillan third and Jon Nears finishing fourth.

Milly Presland was a good winner of the ladies race with Andrea James, who took a bad fall, runner-up.

Rebecca Cooke competed well at the Ipswich Triathlon.
