THE Essex and Suffolk Border League Rep team have moved into the last 16 of the FA Inter League Cup.

They held their nerve to defeat the Somerset Premier League on penalties, after the sides drew 3-3.

A shoot-out was needed after extra-time failed to separate the teams.

The match was played at Hengrove Athletic FC on Saturday and the Border League's goal-scorers were Scott Lodge, Jake Bethell and Ricky Loveridge (penalty).

Loveridge then netted in the shoot-out, followed by Don Rowe and Bradley Westley.

Sam Felgate saved the first three Somerset penalties, resulting in a 3-0 victory.

The Border League management team consisted of Tony Armstrong (manager), Lloyd Pentney (assistant manager) and coaches Anthony White (West Bergholt) and Cliff Akurang (Coggeshall United).
