WIVENHOE Tennis Club continue to enjoy a mainly positive season in the Colchester and District League.
The Men's A team remain unbeaten with their most recent victory being a fine 6-3 result at Spring Lane B.
Wivenhoe's Men's B team also remain unbeaten with their most recent results being a good 7-2 victory at West Mersea.
Jon Penny and 11-year-old Miles Black won all three rounds.
That win was followed by an exciting 5-4 win at Lexden Hill B where in fading light, the result was finally settled in the last round.
Championship tie breaks proved the deciding factor, with Terry Hoddy and Sam Dewey winning their three rounds.
Wivenhoe's Men's C team is also having a fine season with their most recent victory being a 9-0 triumph at The Officers Club.
Wivenhoe Ladies had an excellent 8-1 victory at Little Clacton and continue to challenge in their division.
The club's Mixed teams results are not quite so positive, with Wivenhoe's A team losing twice in quick succession to Kirby A but the B team won 8-1 at Kirby C.
Wivenhoe TC coach Jamie Champion is pleased to see the way the youngsters he has been coaching are continuing to perform well in their respective teams.
He has recently started another venture on Thursday evenings providing more directed coaching for adult ‘improvers’.
