Colchester United striker Jamie Cureton has reportedly handed in a transfer request.
Reports suggest that the U's hotshot, who was the Coca-Cola Championship's leading goalscorer last season, has asked to leave Layer Road.
The former Reading player still has a year remaining on his contract with the U's.
The news will come as another blow to Colchester, who have seen striker Chris Iwelumo leave for Charlton Athletic and have missed out on signing defender Chris Barker over recent days.
